Find a Consistent Golf Swing Online

I must admit that in the never ending search for a consistent golf swing, online would not normally be the obvious place you would look for a cure for your golfing woes.

However, desperate times call for desperate measures. Spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on golf lessons, hot shot golf equipment, buckets of balls on the driving range and numerous nerve shattering rounds on local golf courses, and all without so much as a smidgen of evidence that your golf is improving is character building to say the least.

Hence the drift online to cure the deficiencies in my golf swing that reduce a good portion of my game of golf to a game of chance. There is no hot secret in recognising that if you want to play a decent round of golf (measured against your own standards and expectations), then you need to be able to produce a consistent golf swing consistently.

I have no doubt that most golf swing problems arise out of a deep rooted desire to blast that little ball way past those of your fellow players one moment and a few minutes later trying to be immensely accurate and getting the ball to within inches of the pin with a delicate chip. The mind plays tricks with these different requirements and the upshot of this is that your swing goes to pot and so does your game.

My search for a consistent golf swing online delivered up several possibilities, all at a fraction of the cost of what had gone before which I suppose wasn’t that surprising.

What was surprising to me was the result – call it luck, or just attention to detail and good golf swing teaching, but my search for a golf swing online has borne fruit in the form of a very satisfying drop in my total score and a corresponding yet somewhat challenging decline in my golf handicap!

However, I can foresee my dwindling golf handicap becoming something I can be proud of, and in reality seeing the faces of my playing partners, who are not used to me challenging them for the lead coming down the 18th, is worth more than a boatload of gold.

When it comes to golf, Thailand has more to offer than any other country in South East Asia. There are, quite literally, 250 courses. Where ever there is any kind of tourism infrastructure, even in quieter areas, you will find at least one golf course. Generally they are of a high standard since Thailand has made a conscious effort to promote this side of its tourist industry. Standards may be high, but prices are very reasonable.

Add into the equation the fact that the weather is good all year round and many of the courses will be part of resorts also providing other facilities such as swimming pools, gyms, restaurants and spas. Golf first came to Thailand in the 1920′s under the auspices of Rama VII in the royal, seaside resort of Hua Hin. The Hua Hin course is still very much in use and has a historical feel all of its own. The real explosion, however, came in the 1980s in parallel with Thailand’s great leap forward in the tourism industry in general.

Top course architects, such as Nick Faldo, Gary Player and Jack Nicklaus, were recruited to design courses that would be different and challenging. Testament to the rapid ascent to respectability of golf in Thailand is the fact that it now hosts many major international tournaments such as the Johnnie Walker Classic. Bangkok may be an urban sprawl but it boasts some world class golf courses. There are over forty in and around the city and everyone has their favorite. For something unusual try the Thai Country Club. It has a very challenging and well maintained layout. Krungthep Kreetha Golf Course is only 30 minutes from the city center which makes it convenient if you are pressed for time. Lakewood Country Club to the east of the city virtually doubles as a botanical garden with more than 45 species of plants and more than 2,000 trees. The Alpine Golf Club is one of the most challenging courses in Thailand playing host to major PGA tournaments in Thailand and certainly lives up to its reputation.

Pattaya may have its detractors as a beach resort, but when it comes to golf it would be impossible to find fault with it. Spread across the provinces of Chonburi and Rayong is an incredible choice of venues. The Siam Country Club was the first course in the region and dates from 1968 when Pattaya was still little more than a fishing village. It still holds its own, especially after the 2006 remodeling. Laem Chabang International Country Club about 25 km from Pattaya is a luxury course designed by Jack Nicklaus. Nearer town is the Phoenix Golf Club. There are many, many more. Also within reach of Bangkok is Kanchanaburi. Situated on the banks of the River Kwai, next to a national park in the shadow of jungle clad mountains, not far from the Burma border, there are many courses in the most beautiful of tropical settings.

The Grand Garden Golf Club, Green World, Mission Hills Country Club, Nichigo Resort & Country Club, The River Kwai Golf Club and the Blue Sapphire Golf Club all have their own special qualities. Similarly rural with equally majestic settings, the mountainous north also boasts a number of very good courses. The Chiang Mai Green Valley Country Club set next to a beautiful lake is only 15 minutes from the Chiang Mai itself. Chiang Mai Highlands is right next to the mountains. The Chiang Mai-Lamphun Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course lying in a natural valley surrounded by rolling hills. The traditional architecture of the clubhouse and buildings give it a distinctively northern flavor.

It is no surprise that Phuket, with all its international luxury resorts, also boasts excellent facilities for golf. There are some stunning courses where the luminous blue of the nearby sea contrasts with the rich greens of the fairways. The Blue Canyon Country Club, the Phuket Country Club, the Laguna Phuket Golf Club and the Mission Hills Golf Resort are four of the best known providing outstanding facilities. Where ever you choose to play golf in Thailand it is usually possible to book a whole package with all facilities included which leaves you free to step onto the course soon after stepping off the plane.

A Golf Vacation For the Entire Family

A golfing trip can be the perfect vacation whether you’re an avid golfer or just play for fun. Even those that play golf will each prefer something different for their golf vacation.

For some, the highlight of a golf trip would be having perfect weather for golfing all day and strolling the beach at night. Golfers that are always striving to better their game may want inclement weather and many hazards on the course to make them play better under adverse conditions. They may also love the idea of playing on a course where professional golfers such as Arnold Palmer or Tiger Woods have played. Who knows whom they may run into on the course?

Golfing is a serious game for many people, men and women alike. In the past, golf was more a game enjoyed by men so couples would mix golf and travel together to get the perfect vacation. With so many different golf balls and accessories, golf no longer needs to be played only during daylight hours. There are glow-in-the dark golf balls and fluorescent golf balls, which both make playing golf at night much more fun and challenging. Because of these brightly designed balls, winter golf is more popular than ever as there is no longer the chance of not seeing the balls in the snow.

Playing golf under extreme weather conditions is something that appeals to male golfers more than the woman, although there are many women that will get right down and play in frigid temperatures right next to their male competitors. Even though most don’t enjoy the extreme cold temperatures, they realize the actual game doesn’t take that long and it will give them the opportunity to test their skills under the worst conditions.

For the more serious golfers, playing in inclement weather with many hazards is not only challenging and exciting, but a lot of fun. There are some serious precautions, however, that need to be taken to protect yourself, your family and any friends that may be with you. If the weather is excessively hot, it’s important to bring plenty of cold water or fluids to prevent dehydration and illness because of overheat. Always dress appropriately.

If the weather, however, is cold, it is equally important that you dress for the cold temperatures with plenty of layers of warm clothing. Drink warm fluids and take breaks as often as necessary. Nothing will wreck a golf vacation quicker than members of your group getting sick or worse yet, a trip to the emergency room.

Many people choose to not combine golf and travel together and prefer to just shoot some balls at their local shooting range with their friends. Playing some good competitive fun games with their friends is often what they consider a great golf vacation. No work and playing golf everyday-what more could they want?
