It’s just like the hamburger commercial; Have it your own way! Your annual golf outing deserves to be the best possible vacation. Make it your own way. Forget “the package” and design your own special, personalized group get away.

In my last article, I gave an overview of how you can put together a terrific group golf vacation. In this article, I will go into much more detail concerning the organization and preparation. I have been setting up the ideal gathering for our group for 18 years. There are refinements every year and we think we have arrived at the optimum outing.

You will be driving this bus, so get the ball rolling. Do a little research and pick a location. This location should have plenty of vacation rental homes and a good selection of golf courses. If you are looking for a golf holiday abroad for the first time, planning for it can be quite a task. Besides knowing some essential travel tips, the following additional tips can make you golf holiday trip abroad memorable and fun.

1) Golfing Destination

As there are many golf holiday around the world, you need to pick a place where you get the most of you needs. Besides having a good and reputable golf course, you should consider tour options for your family members if they are not a golfer.

One of the key consideration should be the choice of golf course and their available tee off time as well as it allow you to play one ball. Many golf course do allow one ball play on weekday while some on weekend during off peak hour. Do confirm with the golf course before you make reservation for your trip.

2) Tour Destination option

If you travel with your family members, do look out for golf resort or hotel that are close to city center. You family member can spend their time on city tour while you play your golf game.

3) Weather condition

Consider the weather condition of the golf holiday destination. Besides having good weather to play golf, you also need to consider the weather condition in city tour for your family members. If you travel during winter season, then you need to consider the extra luggage to carry with you for the thick winter clothing. If you travel to tropical countries, do consider the raining season during March to May and September to November period. As the weather condition may change, do confirm with the resort.

4) Give yourself more options

You can have more options for your golf game if you pick a destination which has many other golf courses nearby your golf resort or hotel. Find out the time need to travel to those golf course. Travel time within one hour should be quite comfortable.
